Deepak Ahya

Deepak is passionate about solving problems and he applies this passion everyday in designing win-win partnerships between citizens, governments, investors, and implementers.

Before he started I3, he worked with Motorola and General Dynamics where he earned 30+ patents. Subsequently, he was Senior Director, Smart Cities at MasTec, where he worked on projects with over $1 billion in cumulative value, including upgrading New York City’s traffic management system and introducing smart public infrastructure (i.e. smart lighting, public safety, etc.) in Miami-Dade County.

An engineer by training, Deepak earned his Master's in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois and holds a Master's in Business from the University of Miami.

Kamal Maheshwari

Kamal has worked on building and financing Indian infrastructure for over 30 years, which gives him a unique ability to source, vet, and identify projects for our investors.

Before joining I3, Kamal was an executive at Essel Infrastructure, where he won $2.6 billion in new infrastructure projects. He has won and executed projects in a wide range of sectors, from solar, wind, and waste management to roads, railways, and airports.

Kamal has received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai. He has received multiple awards for his work on infrastructure projects which have generated social, environmental, and economic returns.

Oscar Bode

Oscar knows what it’s like to be an investor exploring opportunities in emerging markets because he was one.

Before joining I3, Oscar spent 12 years as the Director of Cisco Capital in EMEA where he led investments in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

Subsequently, he started Smart City Capital to finance the infrastructure and technology required to support growing urban populations.

Oscar holds an MBA from the University of Miami and has spoken and written widely on the promise of technology to support sustainable urban development.
